As a Senior Marine Engineer​ you will:

• Work within the Maritime Lifecycle Readiness Division to provide engineering support to the United States Coast Guard Headquarters

A week in the life of a Senior Marine Engineer​:

• Perform design reviews, evaluate constructability, help resolve technical issues, and manage information generated through the design and construction phases of multiple and concurrent projects.
• Design, develop and evaluate operation of shipboard HVAC & Refrigeration systems.
• Conduct HVAC&R trade studies, reviews and provide comments on new US Coast Guard acquisition cutter and boat HVAC&R system designs.
• Lead engineers in development efforts, reviews of technical data packages.
• Provide engineering support in the analysis of all HVAC&R related technical issues and design challenges.
• Support the US Coast Guard reviewing third party design modifications and improvements.
• Conduct ship visits.
• Develop Engineering Changes of HVAC&R systems. 
• Conduct mechanical engineering & psychrometric analysis.
• Research advanced engineering designs and/or applications.
• Prepare technical reports.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Ability to obtain a secret clearance
• 6 years of overall relevant experience

At least 3 years of experience in:

• Design, development, installation and operation of shipboard HVAC and/or Refrigeration systems and related equipment.
