A week in the life of a Database Developer:

• Collaborate with onsite system design personnel in the planning, design, engineering, and implementation of the organization’s databases.
• Monitor the databases performance, scalability, and security. 
• Evaluate existing database design and determine updates and integration requirements of new design
• Ensure final solutions meet organizational needs. 
• Make data available to authorized personnel
• Structure program data
• Define indexing, procedures, functions and other parameters
• Evaluate feasibility and costs of implementation
• Document processes, create user documentation, and user guidelines
• Ensure all data is intelligently store and processed
• Create concepts that includes requirements for data protection and data integrity
• Design user interface
• Define guidelines for data backup
• Install and configure database systems
• Train database administrator and instruct users how to use the new database
• Analyze data and create reports per US Navy Program requirements

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $96,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. AMERICAN SYSTEMS provides for the welfare of its employees and their dependents through a comprehensive benefits program by offering healthcare benefits, paid leave, retirement plans (including ESOP and 401k), insurance programs, and education and training assistance.

• Bachelor’s level degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or Mathematics with concentration in computer science disciplines.
• Active Secret security clearance

At least 3 years professional experience in:

• SQL, T-SQL, and PL/SQL, DB2 development
• working with Oracle databases
• Knowledge of non-relational databases like NoSQL
• Preparing and analyzing data, and creating reports 
• Performing system analysis
• Operating systems like Windows and Linux 
• Programming languages like C , Java, C #, HTML, .Net, python, javascript or PHP
