AMERICAN Systems is seeking an experienced Logistician for a Navy program, with experience in Acquisition life cycle management to join our team at Point Mugu, Ventura, CA!

As an Acquisition Logistician, you will:

  • Work with a highly accomplished Govt/Contractor Integrated Product Support (IPS) team, providing the US Navy customer with maintenance expertise for an ACAT I program.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with key stakeholders, including Active Duty Navy, regional contractors, and civilian support personnel. 
  • Manage supply chain, inventory control, and procurement of necessary materials and equipment. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all logistics issues, providing recommended guidance and problem-solving skills. 
  • Support meetings and conferences, articulating customer logistics needs and requirements to external stakeholders as directed. 
  • Provide written and verbal briefings on logistics and maintenance activities to detachment leadership and senior Navy officials. 
  • Analyze logistics data and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and operational readiness.

A week in the life of an Acquisition Logistician:

  • Serve as the coordinator responsible for the planning, operations, and execution of system deliveries to the Fleet. 
  • Manage system acceptance and delivery efforts while maintaining inventory accuracy to ensure performance goals are met. 
  • Identify problem areas and trends.
  • Create mitigation strategies and brief the Government customer on recommended resolutions. 
  • Review System Delivery Plans, Storage Plans, and make inventory adjustments.
  • Provide assistance to DOD, Federal Agencies and authorized customers in screening and selecting property for reutilization. 
  •  Administrate accountable records, adjustments, inventory corrections, and monitor the record status of government property inventory. 
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and accountability of excess or surplus property to prevent damage, loss, or personal injury. 
Job Requirements
  • Active TS/SCI clearance is a MUST.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in direct support of Military Logistics.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in defense life cycle (Acquisition) logistics. 
  • Thorough understanding of the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (4790 series).
  • Adept at briefing program office level leadership.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, and other MS Office applications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field highly preferred. At least 4 years direct experience with analyzing logistics data and developing metrics to assess readiness impacts, conducting root cause failure analysis, developing plans to resolve readiness degraders, understanding complex Aircraft/Avionics systems and the full spectrum logistics required to acquire and sustain them. 
  • 12 years of overall experience.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary/hourly range for this position is $150,000- $185,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
