About American Youth Foundation (AYF)
American Youth Foundation programs welcome people to discover their own best selves, explore their strengths and values, and come together to create powerful communities. The AYF is a nonprofit youth empowerment organization whose mission has provided the foundation for dynamic programs since its founding in 1925.
Thousands of young people engage in camp and overnight programs year-round at the beautiful properties Merrowvista in New Hampshire and Miniwanca in Michigan. People from across the country and around the world come to AYF facilities for community and school programs, summer camps, and leadership conferences. The programs inspire individuals and groups to put their best into action and make a difference in big and small ways each day.
AYF strongly values diverse perspectives and experiences and seeks to create communities where all feel welcome to be their own best self. It is their goal to provide inspiring programs where all youth are offered the opportunity to take on that challenge. As AYF nears its 100th year in 2025, the focus continues to be on building positive, intentional communities where youth put the mission into action.
AYF Mission Statement
