Unarmed Security Guard Responsibilities:

• Preventing illegal or inappropriate actions by maintaining a high visibility presence.
• Performing access control procedures on vehicles and visitors.
• Patrolling the buildings, facilities, and perimeters of the campus.
• Informing personnel and visitors of security procedures and acting upon non-compliance.
• Monitoring alarm systems and video surveillance systems.
• Investigating suspicious activities and disturbances.
• Immediately reporting security breaches to designated law enforcement agents.
• Documenting observations and surveillance activities of vehicles arriving on campus.
• Adhering to security industry regulations.
• Managing the flow of traffic for arrival and dismissal during the school day.
• Maintain traffic flow at intersections, roads, and transportation circles.
• Ensure children cross the street only when safe; report suspicious vehicles or strangers loitering near the school.
• Perform sign and cone setup/takedown procedures, including cleaning and repairs.
• Be alert for potential hazards involving vehicles, pedestrians, and equipment. Take responsible action to prevent accidents.
• Assist guests and employees with directions and information in a friendly, professional manner. Effectively handle first-line conflicts and problems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• State-prescribed training, licensing, and registration is preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of security systems and surveillance equipment.
• Knowledge of security industry regulations.
• Experience in documenting security procedures and observations.

Salary:

Salary will be based on background and experience.
