3rd Shift Maintenance Technician (Trailer)
American Wood Fibers (AWF) is a manufacturer of both consumer and industrial products that are sold to multiple manufacturers as well as pet, agricultural, and home-heating markets. AWF is comprised of 450 employees and holds operations at 11 locations, generating over $100M in annual sales revenue. We are currently seeking a candidate for the 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician (Trailer) role in our Marshall, TX facility.
JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician (Trailer) will operate in a safe and efficient manner while troubleshooting and repairing 48’ and 53’ trailers. Primary duties include:
- Adjusting and performing preventative maintenance on trailers
- Repairing trailers, including cutting & welding, brakes, tires, lights and other required maintenance of trailers
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up, adjust, perform preventative maintenance, repair, and maintain trailers
- Oil and grease equipment
- Analyze mechanical and operational problems and make necessary corrections
- Diagnose, repair, replace, or maintain the following but not limited to: tires, brakes, suspension/airbags, doors/floors/sides/traps, lights and air lines
- Test equipment regularly to verify correct operations
- Diagnose and repair trailers
EXPERIENCE LEVEL
2-5 years
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in manufacturing, general labor, or packaging goods
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to perform certified DOT inspections (Preferred)
- Ability to safely work independently
- Must have personal set of basic tools
- Physical capability to frequently lift, climb, stand, walk, crouch, squat, bend, and kneel (Required)
- Ability to use basic computer systems for email, work orders, and training
- Ability to operate forklifts, small mobile equipment, telehandlers, and use manlifts & aerial work platforms
- May be assigned to assist with other maintenance duties onsite
COMPENSATION
$26.00-$38.00 per hour
