Individual Support Direct Care Professional (Acton, Andover)

Job description

American Training, a non-profit Human Services Agency, is seeking Direct Support Professionals for our Individualized Support Services/In-Home Services (ISS/HIS) program. As an ISS/IHS Direct Support Professional you will work with our Residents, adults with developmental disabilities, on promoting independence in their homes and in the community by identifying and working towards their individual goals. Currently hiring for the Acton and Andover areas!

What does an ISS/IHS Direct Support Professional (DSP) do?

• Support Residents to participate in communities as workers, neighbors, and friends
• Fosters an environment of empowerment and choice for all Residents
• Work cohesively with all members of the care team to ensure all medical, vocational, and other needs are met
• Supports, encourages, and ensures that Residents Individualized Support Plans, personal preferences, and aspirations are a part of their daily lives
• Possesses an upbeat and positive attitude to ensure a culture of FUN and entertaining WOW! Magic experiences for all Residents

Qualifications:

• Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent required
• At least two years’ experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
• Experience in a community based supported employment or housing preferred
• Valid driver’s license required
• Ability to use personal registered and insured vehicle
• Satisfactory CORI and DDS finger printing
