MAJOR FUNCTION:

Develop and manage all types of agricultural loan accounts and relationships in accordance with the policies of the bank under direction of the Agricultural Loan Manager. Develop new account relationships for all areas of the bank, concentrating on agricultural lending. Offer suggestions to initiate changes to accomplish Agricultural Strategic Objectives.

RESPONSIBILITES: Please note this is an on-site position.

• Analyzes the credit history of applicants and determines their loan repayment capabilities.
• Negotiates credit terms, such as costs, loan repayment methods and collateral specifications.
• Develops and maintains interest rate structure to be consistent with financial institution policies and procedures, and to be competitive with current market rates.
• Evaluates potential customer loan requests and makes loan recommendations to management.
• Perform collection efforts, including personal contact with past due customers as necessary. Initiate any collection or legal action as necessary. Turn accounts over to legal or collection agency when all other collection means are exhausted. Repossess collateral when appropriate.
• Reviews new laws and regulations that influence agricultural lending within the financial institution; makes recommendations to management when necessary.
• Provides assistance and recommends training for agricultural lending division employees.
• Develops new customer prospects and business for the financial institution.
• Advise and assist department officers and staff in their respective functions associated in the agricultural loan division.
• Complete all initial and annual training requirements as outlined by ASBT.
• Perform all other duties as required, consistent with the goals, objectives and responsibilities of the Lending function.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or related field.
• One to two years of experience, preferably in the agricultural field and in a lending position.
• Extensive knowledge of agricultural lending policies and procedures.
• Good managerial, communication and sales skills.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Confidentiality and tactfulness in dealing with bank and customer information is mandatory.
• Ability to conduct relationships with co-workers, customers, the community and the overall public in a manner which will enhance the bank’s image and comprehensive marketing effort.
• Will be called upon from time to time to participate with community organizations and projects.
• Possible customer calls and credit functions may require employee to have a driver’s license. A bank vehicle may be provided for these purposes.
