As a Control Room Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring the Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) in the control room while production is operating. The Control Room Operator also provides feedback and insights to operations regarding the capabilities and utilizations of both the business and production processes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitor Operations in the Control Room.
  • Organize, implement, and maintain production process control plans.
  • Develop work instructions, workmanship standards and process documents, and assurance of utilizations.
  • Improve continually existing operations for increased quality, productivity, efficiency and cost savings.
  • Investigating and correcting operational issues impacting production and reporting solutions to various stakeholders.
  • Evaluate business processes, business requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and assist with developing / implementing solutions.
  • Review and map core operations utilizing value stream mapping, to identify inefficiencies, waste, manual effort, and opportunities for scalable improvement.
  • Analyze and monitor data and key performance indicators related to time, cost, quality, and productivity to enlighten potential operational improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of ASWP processes to ensure consistent value delivery.
  • Liase with production planning, project engineering, and plant management for ensuring the released production jobs are setup correctly in MES.
  • Provide manufacturing process data. E.g. production control charts, reliability analysis and process capability, to continuously improve processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  2. Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  3. Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  4. Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.
  5. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
  6. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  7. Must be able to compute ratio and percent and to interpret bar graphs.
  8. Must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  9. Must be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  10. Must be able to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  11. Must be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  12. Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  13. Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  14. Must have knowledge of Manufacturing software; Automation software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  15. Must be able to read, write and effectively communicate in English.
  16. Must be technically innovative with strong business acumen.
  17. Must be able to deliver communication to non-analytical stakeholders.
  18. Must be highly attentive to detail and accuracy.
  19. Must have knowledge of manufacturing, welding, and quality processes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Two to three years of relevant work experience in project management and process improvement. Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma philosophies, tools, and techniques.

  • The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
