American Savings Bank is Hiring a Quality Control Specialist I Near Honolulu, HI

Primary Purpose of Job:

Ensures line of business compliance with ASB internal policies and applicable banking regulations. Applies implemented internal controls intending to minimize operational risk. Responsible for early detection, remediation and reporting of issues.

Major Job Accountabilities:

  • Performs reviews on products and processes in scope including but not limited to: new loan activity, loan servicing, and processes managed by third party vendors. Works with stakeholders to ensure prompt remediation.
  • Participates in procedure reviews, trainings, and other known methods to manage operational risk. Obtains a firm understanding of implemented improvement(s).
  • Participates in audits conducted by internal auditors and other risk-focused areas as needed. Tasks may include pulling reports, procedures, and other supporting documents upon request.
  • Assesses quality control metrics to identify trends and areas carrying potential risk on a regular basis. Collaborates with business units to implement solutions and perform additional reviews as needed.
  • Keeps current on new regulatory developments affecting areas of responsibilities and communicates new guidance to affected teams.
  • Conducts daily operational tasks that include documenting, revising and executing procedures, as well as other administrative responsibilities.

Experience Required:

  • One (1) year of work experience in a regulated industry performing internal control assessments. Experience in a financial services industry preferred.

Required Skills or Training:

  • Ability to expand knowledge of related banking laws and regulations impacting products and services.
  • Basic personal computer skills with the readiness to learn various operational tools.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities in a demanding work environment while processing a high volume of reviews.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work collaboratively across the organization.
