Under the supervision of the Executive Director, this position is responsible for the public relations marketing and promotion of the American River Parkway Foundation.
Primary Responsibilities:
Communications
· Under general direction from the Executive Director, implement the Public Relations Plan for the Foundation that includes media relations, publications and social media.
· In consultation with the Executive Director, develop press releases, plan and implement media conferences, and pitch story ideas to print and electronic reporters and bloggers.
· Maintain and update the Foundation’s web-site on a regular basis. Develop and implement an integrated strategy for social media, and work with Events Coordinator to update all target sites with information about the Foundation.
· Ensure that messages are supportive of and consistent with marketing strategies
· Deliver content via LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, email, or direct mail
· Coordinate email campaigns and e newsletters
· Create brochures and program sheets
· Promote Foundation programs thorough public relations initiatives
· Develop marketing communications campaigns
· Research media coverage and industry trends
· Develop fresh story ideas
· Coordinate media for the following special events: Ride the Parkway, Summer Solstice, Howlin on the Parkway, Run the Parkway
· Develop partnerships with tourism bureaus and local chamber of commerce
Marketing:
· Develop and implement a comprehensive multi-media marketing strategy for the Foundation that integrates all projects and programs of the Foundation.
· Attend meetings of local stakeholder groups to garner support for the Foundation
· Work with consultant in coordinating focus groups
· Develop “park” packet
Qualifications:
· Excellent written communication skills with emphasis on proofreading and grammar excellence
· Degree in marketing, journalism, communications and/or proven knowledge of New Media
· Knowledge of social networking channels
· Event, communication, marketing and/or public relations experience
· Able to work occasional weekend and evenings.
· Able to lift 50 pounds

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
