American Niagara Hospitality is Hiring an Engineering Maintenance Supervisor Near Niagara Falls, NY

JOB SUMMARY

The overall objective and purpose of the Engineering Supervisor are to assist the Chief Engineer in coordinating, supervising, and directing all engineering/maintenance operations, including maintaining the building(s), and grounds with particular attention towards safety, security, and asset protection.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • 2 years’ experience in the engineering and maintenance
  • Highschool diploma or GED preferred
  • Technical training in HVAC/Electrical/plumbing preferred

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Primary areas of responsibility and job duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Monitors and maintains the building(s) including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and life safety systems.
  • Supervises the day-to-day operations of engineering associates.
  • Trains new engineering associates.
  • Continuously mentors engineering associates.
  • Takes immediate and corrective action to address associate issues or opportunities for improvement and reports to management.
  • Maintains accurate logs and provide reports on the status of project milestones and brand-related reports..
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance throughout the building(s) up to and including guestrooms, public spaces, and all related building(s) equipment and systems.
  • Ensure that equipment is operating at optimum effectiveness, efficiency, and safety.
  • Assist Chief Engineer to manage and perform effective equipment, guestroom, building(s)-wide preventative maintenance program.
  • Assist Chief Engineer to maintain regulatory compliance to building(s) regulations and safety standards.
  • Operates generators and fire pumps as necessary.
  • Provides maintenance emergency response services 24/7.
  • Serves as first responder to maintenance and building(s) issues.
  • Reports immediately to management any building(s), maintenance or associate issues when further action is necessary.
  • Repairs equipment as necessary.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Adhere to quality expectations and standards.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, listen and respond appropriately to concerns of other employees.
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language.
  • Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Light work-exerting up to 70lbs of force occasionally, and/or 40lbs of force frequently or consistently to lift, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, and pulling.
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance and heavier lifting or movement tasks with assistance.
  • Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders.
  • The frequent physical demands of the position are standing, walking, climbing, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, and eye/hand/foot coordination.

  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Must work well in stressful & high-pressure situations, maintaining composure & objectivity.
  • Must be effective in handling problem in the workplace; including: anticipating, preventing, identifying, & solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, & clarifying the concerns & issues raised by coworkers & guests.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
