WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
As a Service Delivery Transportation Supervisor, you will dispatch Red Cross Volunteers and/or employee drivers for blood pick-up and delivery to multiple regions. You will coordinate various transportation-related services including scheduling, routing, and ensuring the safe operation of all vehicles. You will perform complex administrative duties to ensure the efficient and cost-effective integrated logistics operation of transportation within the Division. Provide support to the daily operations in the functional area of Transportation.

Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the supervision and coordination of scheduled deliveries and shuttles including empty box pickups utilizing vendors/volunteers and ARC paid couriers based on the most economical and cost-effective means. Coordinate pickups of collected products (time-sensitive and non-time sensitive) from mobiles, fixed sites and staging sites utilizing the most economical and cost-effective means.
Responsible for volunteer/staff training and certification of competency. Help in onboarding of new volunteer/staff. Prepare work schedules and ensure appropriate coverage for assigned shift. Supervise all work processes and ensure work is performed accurately and efficiently.
Make proactive adjustments to routes on an as needed basis due to inclement weather, major traffic issues, and special events, etc.
Monitor volunteer engagement and work with Volunteer Services to increase volunteer recruitment. Participate in planning of local recognition events.
Interact with customers to provide updates on deliveries. Monitor Connect and the Transportation Management System (TMS) to provide tracking of shipments to customers.
Perform invoice monitoring, reconciliation, and timely payment of all bills. Maintain good communication and follow up with the Vendor.
Work with service delivery management group and contracting as needed.
Evaluate and ensure the proper vehicle needs are being met for the site and coordinate the request with the Fleet Coordinator. Work with Fleet for vehicle needs.
On-call may be required.
Standard Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30AM-4:00PM. Can vary depending on department needs.
Pay Information: Pay starting at $63,600, but offer will be based on relevant experience.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
1 year of lead or supervisory experience.
A valid driver's license and clean DMV record is required.
Must have basic computer, reading, and communication skills. Previous experience with messenger service or trucking company is desirable.
Must have effective communication and customer service skills and the ability to interact with diverse customers (internal and external) is required. Ability to work on a team and independently.
Travel: May berequired if the position is multi regional
The combination of a candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).
