SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Product, The Merchandising Assistant supports all projects related to Market, Shop-Shop Concept, assists in the development of new products and manages partnerships with key accounts. This role also provides administrative support in various merchandising and marketing related projects including gathering, tracking, preparing and distributing merchandising and marketing data and materials across internal and external channels.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reviews new fabric and leather introductions from vendors and keeps library of offerings in Merchandising War Room. Maintains organization of library.
• Creates mood boards for requested color, product, and overall lifestyle trends.
• Works with Product Director to edit fabric and leather introductions, as well as creates correlations of product and cover for Shop in Shop concept and market orders.
• Creates new products and maintains a CAD library of products.
• Able to create floorplan in CAD for Shop in Shop concepts and market showroom layout.
• Assist in creation of swatch materials, as well as helping to manage fulfillment of material rollouts to the field.
• Maintains Prototype Department corkboard current for new product development styles
• Assists in proofreading and editing schematics and pricelists
• Data entry of critical merchandising information including sample orders / market orders and assist in tracking furniture pieces
• Assists in the maintenance of the factory showroom inventory
• Researches green initiatives, design and fashion styles and other industry trends
• Other administrative duties such as preparing and mailing out packages and ordering supplies

MINUMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD required.
• A Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Merchandising
• Must be able to express ideas coherently
• Ability to work in independently and juggle multiple projects at a time
• Demonstrates a high level of creativity, attention to detail and organization
• Knowledge of the Adobe suite a plus
• Experience working under deadlines
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office such as Outlook and Excel

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Travel as needed and primarily during April and October Markets
