POSITION OVERVIEW 

The Educational Technology Database Administrator works under the Executive Director of Innovative Technology. This individual will be in charge of managing all databases used by the Executive Director of Innovative Technology throughout the school including library services.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Under the guidance of the Executive Director of Innovative Technology

    • Textbook/platform database management and training materials

    • Assist in reviewing new technologies

    • Troubleshoot teacher needs and report ongoing issues to IT

  • Linking materials and creating materials

    • Importing and maintaining CVS files into utilized platforms, new student placement, code management for student course requests, and troubleshooting

  • Manage Filemaker Pro Database 

  • Work with the Teacher Tech Team and Curriculum Specialist to do the following:

    • Manage agendas

    • Create course codes

    • Post to the appropriate calendars to ensure teachers are educated on the upcoming opportunities.

    • Complete administrative tasks as required on the Educational/School Databases teacher in-service portal.

    • Complete data entry of all professional development In-service hours with follow-up submission for approval to the regional AISF office.

    • Direct teachers with the certification/licensure renewal process. 

    • Submit quarterly reports of all professional development coursework and teachers assigned in-service credits to the DOE.

    • Identify and communicate outside Professional Development Course Opportunities for teachers via TEC (Teacher Education Page)/Educational/School Databases.

    • Submit teacher certification status reports quarterly to the Principal(s). 

    • Maintain the TEC (Teacher Education Page). 

    • Work with the Teacher Teach Team to ensure teachers' resources are reviewed and updated on an ongoing basis.

    • Include reference material for teachers in the area of: Technical Guides, Planbook, Professional Development opportunities, and certification/recertification updates and links.

SECONDARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Technology support:

    •  Provide student and teacher technology support within the Media Center and as requested.

  • Test proctoring: 

    • Proctor student exams as needed.

  • Professional development credentials: 

    • Review completed teacher professional development courses and provide appropriate credits for Florida teacher licensing. 

    • Assists with teacher recertification.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE 

  • A bachelor’s degree at an accredited institution encompassing data administration or similar.

  • At least three years of educational experience.

  • At least two years experience in database administration.

  • Experience with Apple products.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to facilitate and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others

  • Flexibility, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
