American Leadership Academy Applied Technology School is now accepting applications for a Health Services Program Coordinator for the 2023-2024 school year. Candidates must possess a valid AZ IVP fingerprint clearance card.

Job expectations include, but are not limited to:

• Create goals and objectives for the Health Services Academy and ensure goals are met by the staff
• Effectively communicate with staff, school and district administrators, and other ALA AT Academy Program Coordinators
• Create, organize, and maintain credentialing, academic, compliance, and regulatory records for Health Services Academy, staff, and students.
• Recruit and train nurse educators and other health professionals relevant to the Health Services Academy staff
• Create and monitor teaching schedules for academy staff.
• Create, implement, maintain, and monitor academy quality improvement initiatives and goals
• Collaborate with administrators, colleagues, and staff to define, and solve academy academic and staff issues, problems, and concerns.
• Advocate for staff members and students within the academy.
• Teaching classroom-based courses through lectures and discussions
• Creating lesson plans that accomplish predefined learning goals
• Demonstrating techniques and best practices for students
• Overseeing clinical practice components of nurse education and training programs
• Grading papers, assignments and exams
• Helping to develop curriculum for nurse training programs in cooperation with other faculty or directors of nursing
• Documenting student attendance, participation and performance
• Staying up-to-date on the latest advances in medicine and changes to best practice standards for patient care
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Requires five (5) years clinical experience as a registered nurse.
• Two years clinical teaching experience required.
• One year long term care
• Classroom teaching experience preferred.
• Two years management experience and program development required.
• Experience in staff training and performance evaluation a strong asset.
• Arizona CTE Certification preferred

• Well-developed interpersonal skills to engage and inspire students
• Ability to move large, heavy items, such as overhead projectors in classrooms or medical equipment in clinical settings
• Enough stamina to remain stationary for long periods
• Valid driver’s license or reliable access transportation if the prospective Nurse Educator will be responsible for traveling to more than one campus or location to instruct students or nurses
