African American Cultural Center is Hiring a Camp Assistant for the African American Cultural Center Near Buffalo, NY

ABLE Summer Learning is a K-12 youth and education-focused seasonal AmeriCorps program operated by The Service Collaborative. We are currently recruiting for positions at the African American Cultural Center. Members will be responsible for direct camper supervision and Math/ELA support for campers K through 7th grade. Candidates should demonstrate enthusiasm, enjoy working with kids, taking on leadership roles, and problem-solving skills, as well as uphold the African American Cultural Center’s mission and values.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for implementing math/ELA programming
  • Assisting other instructors to develop and implement programming where needed
  • Supervising campers and reporting any and all accidents/incidents to supervisors
  • Notifying Camp Director/Coordinator of personal or professional difficulties with campers or staff.
  • Caring for and organizing teaching tools related to educational programs
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization when using designated space
  • Other related duties as required

*This position requires basic computer skills.

This position is full time Monday-Friday for 9 weeks, to achieve a 300-hour-minimum term of service beginning in mid-late June.
