About American International College:

American International College is a private, coeducational institution of higher education located on a 88 acre campus in Springfield, Massachusetts. The campus has 42 buildings on two sites approximately 1/2 mile apart with a total of approximately 888,000 gross square feet. Included in the inventory of buildings are student residences for a resident population of 900 students. Founded in 1885, the College has approximately 2200 graduate and undergraduate students. Job Description:

The Guided Readiness Opportunities for the Workforce and You (GROW-You) Initiative at AIC aims to support students returning to complete certificate and degree programs. In partnership with the City of Springfield, we have been awarded approximately $270,000 grant to create this innovative program. GROW-You offers a multitude of support services, including direct financial aid, to bring students back into the educational fold. Our focus areas include health, education, and public safety. As a Program Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in reinvigorating our student community, ensuring their success, and contributing to the economic growth of Springfield. If successful, this program could serve as a model for colleges nationwide.

  • Develop and nurture partnerships with community agencies, employers, and educational institutions to support program implementation and participant success
  • Oversee program implementation, including curriculum development, delivery, and evaluation, to ensure alignment with goals and objectives.
  • Organize outreach activities, including information sessions, workshops, and community events, to raise awareness and attract diverse participants.
  • Lead recruitment efforts through targeted strategies and multichannel approaches to reach prospective candidates.
  • Provide comprehensive support services, including academic advising, financial aid assistance, and career counseling, to guide participants through the enrollment process.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and collaboration to align program objectives with community needs and industry trends.
  • Establish monitoring mechanisms to track program activities, participant progress, and key performance indicators for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare progress reports and final evaluations to communicate program outcomes, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders and partners.
  • Other duties as assigned by Dean.

Requirements:

  • Required Degree(s): Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred Degree(s): Master's Degree
  • Required Field of Expertise: Program management experience in higher education
  • Preferred Field of Expertise: Grant Reporting

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Writes clearly and persuasively; effective oral and written communication with all stakeholders, funding agencies, or agents; administrators, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to collect, synthesize, and analyze data about the institution and its impact. Ability to understand, create, and manage budgets and fund accounting.
  • Must be able to work in a diverse environment with the ability to multi-task and be the project manager on several grants simultaneously. Must be able to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web search tools is required.
  • Ability to represent the college in interacting with community organizations and grow a network of partners is essential.

Additional Information:

This is a three year grant funded position from City of Springfield ARPA funds

Work Schedule

This is a full-time, exempt-level, benefit-eligible position. Normal office hours are 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, flexible to the needs of the department.
