This Job:The Commercial Lines Underwriter is responsible for evaluating and examining market data, including appraisals, inspections, catastrophe models, and other relevant information in furtherance of underwriting new business applications, assumptions and renewals for the commercial residential property products. A key part of the commercial lines team, the Commercial Lines Underwriter will serve as the company representative to independent brokers and agents, providing best-in-class service to our partners and representing the core values of American Integrity.
The Commercial Underwriter will also play an active role in developing new products, pricing, and coverages based on market data and analysis as well as input from key partners. He/she will collaborate effectively with the Product, Pricing, Risk, and Underwriting teams to review, analyze, and make data-driven decisions regarding the products, rates, and forms associated with the residential commercial property products. The Commercial Underwriter will play a pivotal role in formulating the overall market strategy for commercial lines, working with Marketing, Sales, and key brokers to maximize product reach while also educating market participants on the product and our differentiators in the market.
What Youll Do:Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference for degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, Actuarial Science or other related field.
Experience: 3-5 years experience in Commercial Residential Property Insurance experience preferred. Preferred candidate will possess excellent computer skills working with queries, workbooks, data warehouse knowledge, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, and Certifications:
Working Conditions: Normal business office environment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for periods of time while constantly operating a computer and or other office productivity machinery such as a calculator or telephone. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery or communicate with coworkers.
Travel: As required.
