AIMS Middle School Sports Coach Eligibility Pool

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The AIMS K-12 College Prep Charter District Athletic Department in Oakland, CA is accepting applications for sports coaches for the dates of the 2022-23 Academic School Year. This role will enhance the athletic department at AIMS College Prep and provide students with the opportunity to expand their skills with basic fitness and sports fundamentals. AIMS College Prep is looking for individuals that will provide students with high-quality instruction by creating healthy competition, unity, and an enjoyable experience. This includes fostering physical and mental growth while upholding the mission, core values, and vision of the AIMS K-12 College Prep District.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• NFHS Certification (First Aid, Health and Safety, and Fundamentals of Coaching)
• CPR/First Aid Certification

Minimum Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma (Bachelor’s Degree preferred) from an accredited institution

Experience Required:

• Previous related coaching/directing experience at the appropriate level preferred.
• Knowledge of coaching fundamentals and development of coaching techniques.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Establish a culture with a high standard of conduct that is consistent with AIMS mission
• Maintain accurate inventory of all equipment and uniforms used by the athletes.
• Understand and meet the needs of unique athletes and help athletes to achieve the highest potential 
• Establish safety guidelines, team goals, and objectives
• Instill appropriate behavior at camp and team activities
• Incorporate parents and guardians in their students’ performance by developing and maintaining collaborative relationships
• Report any rule violations to administrators
• Attend meetings related to the school athletic programs
