Med Tech (Part Time)

Join Our Team as a Part Time, Medication Technician!

Are you passionate about healthcare and looking for an opportunity to make a difference? We are seeking a dedicated Medication Technician to join our wellness team. In this role, you will be administering medications to our residents in a safe, accurate, and timely manner under the supervision of a licensed nurse and the general direction of the Wellness Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and administer medications to residents following established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of medication administration.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and relay pertinent information regarding resident care.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living and encourage social participation in planned activities.
  • Participate in Wellness meetings and required trainings.

Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both residents and staff.
  • Successful completion of a state-approved medication administration course and other state-required certifications.
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational experience.
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, TB test, and physical.

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience as a Certified Med Aide or Medication Technician.
  • Experience working with older adults.
  • Knowledge of dementia and related diseases.

Physical Demands:

  • Standing, walking, sitting.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle/feel.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions:

  • Requires interaction with co-workers, clients, and/or vendors.
  • Occasional weekend, evening, or night work if needed to ensure shift coverage.
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases, infections, and/or blood-borne pathogens.
