About this Position :

Tactical Procurement Specialist will utilize a pro-active approach (sometimes reactive approach) to manage mid-range sourcing events (between $25k - $100K) for materials, supplies and services.

The Tactical Procurement Specialist will utilize quotes, catalogs, Targeted supplier list and other sourcing processes to support production and sales operations across the North American region.

S / he will partner with the Tactical Spend Management and the Indirect Strategic Sourcing teams to ensure that spend under $100,000 is pro-actively managed within the purchasing organization’s strategic direction and to ensure the organization has the right suppliers and right material(s) at the right price and right time to meet stakeholders needs.

Responsibilities include :

• Execute sourcing activities for Consumable materials, goods and Services with budget amounts between $25k and $100k
• Lead Internal review of supplier responses to procurement and facilitate decision analysis as required
• Collaborate with TSM / ISS teams to conduct Category analysis and management
• Share ideas, negotiate, collaborate, and build consensus across Honda North America sites.
• Build a network of productive relationships across HAM / Honda North America to achieve compliance.

Who we are seeking :

Required Work Experience :

A minimum of 0-2 years of experience in either a Purchasing and / or Procurement related role or in a field where job knowledge & skills are applicable based on education

Required Education :

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field or equivalent experience

Desired skills :

• Basic computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Familiarity with SAP, Ariba or major ERP system(s),
• Strong Communication Skills to Various Audiences

Additional Position Factors :

• Office environment
• Up to 5% Travel Ability to Travel on Short Notice for N.A. Support
• 5 Hours per Week OT
