American Fuji Seal is Hiring a Flexo Prepress People and Performance Coach Near Newton, NC

Summary/Objective:

Flexo Prepress People and Performance Coach will manage the daily, weekly, and monthly operation and performance of staff in ink, solvent, parts rinse & wash, plate manufacturing and associated mounting / inventory. The Flexo Prepress Supervisor is also responsible for creating policies and activities to optimize efficiency and to meet the daily metric performance of staff, dispensing systems, tanks, wash units, and processes to ensure a safe and profitable operation to the company.

Specific Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Manages and directs prepress ink, solvent, parts rinse and wash, and blade assembly operations and hourly staff to achieve defined goals and KPI targets.
  • Manages fire safety initiatives and 6S activities in ink room, ink warehouse, washing equipment, and prepress room including hazardous material and recycle waste; ensures all standards meet company quality and production goals for proper grounding, storage, and handling.
  • Manages all associated inventory for supply associated with ink warehouse, press ready and plate manufacturing.
  • Communicates intra and inter departmentally the daily, weekly, and monthly performance of KPI to provide visibility of improvements and weaknesses experienced due to prepress.
  • Promotes, facilitates, and enhances training efforts and programs for ink technicians, production workers, and operations to ensure all standards meet company quality and production goals.
  • Promotes, facilitates, and enhances maintenance and preventative maintenance efforts and programs to ensure all standards meet company quality and production goals.
  • Serves as the ISO process owner of Prepress to standardize process flow and continuous improvement.
  • Schedules repairs and preventative maintenance based on employee safety, customer demand, and line efficiencies; orders equipment and maintains necessary spare parts.
  • Proposes, coordinates, and implements new technologies and methodologies in the industry and presents this research for evaluation by plant management.
  • Ensures the quality of product by directly guiding and working with the PE, GA, Ink Development, QA, QC, shift supervisors, support staff, operators, customer service, and sales; investigates and reports flaws in the system relative to correction action communicated to the customer.
  • Supports any efforts to maintain high-quality standards as defined by BRC and other plant-wide initiatives to help the parent-company, local company, and the departments.
  • Demonstrates proficient computer skills, in particular Microsoft Office; and ability to learn other company-implemented systems.
  • Leadership: Ability to motivate, lead and mentor team members with self-confidence to drive organizational change.
  • Decision Making: Exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance in a face paced environment.
  • Direction Setting: Possesses strong project management and organizational skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills, to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-oriented environment.

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of a BS/BA, or a strong background of manufacturing, press leadership, and financial experiences.
  • Individual must have an analytical approach to troubleshooting, project development, and business performance. The individual should show a diverse ability of communication and understanding as to where these topics can be used or developed for the betterment of the operation.
  • Knowledge, understanding and commitment to proper manufacturing practices – such as GEMBA, 6S, Kaizen – are imperative.
