American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is a global leader in the commercial payments solutions space and continues to be an exciting and fast-growing business dedicated exclusively to the success of businesses globally. GCS provides a range of Corporate Payments Solutions and other expense management tools to help small, mid, and large size companies around the world manage all facets of their business spending. 

As a core engine that powers the GCS business and its colleagues, the Client Onboarding Services (COS) team plays a critical role in delivering best in class revenue empowering services and capabilities across the customer lifecycle. The Client Solutioning team within COS is designed to add strategic focus on early, critical stages of the sales and account development opportunity cycle with both existing and prospective customers via specialized content, convenient services, and high touch solutions.

The Senior Manager, Bid/RFP Proposal Writer/Consultant is a top-tier professional role that will deliver consultative partnership to GCS Sales and Client Management in the creation of Request for Proposal (RFP) and Client presentations spanning the Client lifecycle (acquisition, expansion, cross-sell, and retention). The core role includes the consultation, planning, delivery, and execution of winning strategies that communicate GCS value in a compliant and compelling manner. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations and key stakeholder points of view using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills to filter, prioritize and validate potentially sophisticated and dynamic material from multiple sources. Excellent communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits across global team. The Sr. Manager will also hold local country and region accountability in Canada- building relationships with key business partners and proactively driving innovative business solutions. This is a non-external client facing role. The position reports into an Onboarding Solutions Director, based in the U.S.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing consultative partnership in the planning, development, and delivery of compliant, targeted, value driven communication documents for Large and Global accounts and prospects headquartered around the world
  • Working closely with Business Development and Client Management to assess customer needs and develop and execute winning strategies
  • Owning the proposal process from planning and research to developing customized bid responses and presentations with strategic value messaging
  • Collaborating with the global Client Solutioning team to drive initiatives such as best practice workshops, team engagement principles and development
  • Drive proactive partnership with local and global business partners to help ensure compelling and compliant positioning for tenders and presentations
  • Represent the Onboarding Solutions team in regional meetings, conferences, and via excellent executive presence
  • Ensure adequate and timely facilitation and use of global processes such as salesforce.com and Onboarding Solutions Policy and Procedures guide, as well as leading team intake assessment and assignment responsibilities with peer Senior Managers globally

 

Qualifications:

  • Innovative thought leadership and ability to work in a highly matrixed environment, demonstrating ability to proactively analyze business problems and work across teams and regions to develop business solutions
  • Strategic and analytical thinking, including proven ability to link client needs (individually and holistically) to internal and marketplace solutions
  • Business-to-business sales/marketing and client management processes, including deep understanding and experience with RFPs (Bids/Tenders) and Best and Final presentations
  • Synthesizing information and data to build compelling, professional, and customized client-facing messaging focused on communicating value and highlighting competitive differentiation in a compliant manner
  • Project Management in a fast paced, results-oriented environment with challenging priorities
  • Organization and project management skills and ensuring high attention to quality and detail
  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Adobe Acrobat skills and experience crafting visuals and graphics for proposals and presentations (within all applications mentioned)
  • Commercial Card industry and product knowledge (highly preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
