JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary responsibility is to operate a front-end wheel loader in a safe manner, while loading aggregate bins for a concrete plant, loading trucks, maintaining aggregate stockpiles, maintaining haul roads and yard areas. This position is responsible for performing routine machine maintenance and the ability to lift weight as heavy as fifty pounds is necessary. Working hours will vary and may include weekends.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently by utilizing equipment within its designed parameters. Equipment operated may include but is not limited to Skid Steer, Loader, Excavator, Manlift, Etc.
• Perform routine maintenance including machine cleanliness, daily service inspection, fueling, greasing, and cleaning around aggregate bins. Additional maintenance may be required as directed by supervisor, referring major problems to the supervisor.
• Participate in general plant and yard cleanliness. As well as maintenance for the plant and yard as directed by supervisor.
• Participate in safety efforts including identifying and reporting unsafe conditions and/or safety policy violations and participating in safety meetings/training.
• Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
• Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Regular and predictable attendance. Able to work various times during day, night, or weekend hours, at various locations. Able to work overtime on a regular basis.
• Able to work independently with attention to detail.
• Able to follow direction and work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to effectively prioritize assignments to meet long-term and short-term deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have 1-3 years’ experience running a front-end loader/heavy equipment operator experience.
• Pass a drug screen and physical.

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
