American Eagle Paper Mills is seeking a full-time Quality Lab Tester. 

SHIFT: 12-Hour Rotating Shift

LOCATION: 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Tyrone PA 16686

POSITION STATUS: Full Time, Hourly, Non-exempt

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Observe all mill and department safety policies and procedures. Understand the hazards and work safely and responsibly. Be especially knowledgeable of the specific safety elements and the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for this position.
• Collect and test paper machine samples and report results based on Quality SOPs.
• Perform periodic analysis on customer complaints, competitors, and returned paper.
• Disposition out-of-spec paper.
• Assist winder operator by moving rolls using tugs and helping to thread winder.
• Must be certified in First-Aid, CPR, and Blood borne Pathogens.
• Submit Lab inventory list to Supervisor, and safety/first-aid inventory to Safety Director.
• Send notification for extended downtime, and maintain all calibration and test reports.
• Assist with calibration of lab equipment.
• Maintain an orderly and clean workplace.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Observing all Mill and department safety policies and procedures.
• Understanding the hazards in the workplace and working safely and responsibly.
• Maintaining a good area of housekeeping in the department and disposing of any waste according to the department's requirements.
• Maintain quality standards.

• Must be able to walk distance to the work area and throughout the plant.
• Must be able to stand for 8-12 hours daily.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts that rotate between 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Exceptional attendance is required.
• Previous manufacturing experience is helpful, but not required.

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing environment which requires the use of appropriate safety equipment including safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection in all areas of the Mill. In some areas, hard hats may be required. Cut-resistant gloves and face shields may be required while performing some duties.
