Job Description POSITION TITLE: Senior Network Engineer
REPORTS TO: Director of Networking
POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Network Engineer will design, deploy, and support all relevant networking technologies (hardware/software/protocols) for American Eagle Outfitters. The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for cloud connectivity and network security infrastructure and work together with the members of the network engineering team to help support all aspects of operations for cloud based and on-premise network technology at AEO.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Design, implement, tune, and manage networking technology.
- Advance American Eagle IT and business objectives by providing advice and guidance on network technology to IT and business partners.
- Provide rotating on call support.
- Provide Level 3 support for AE corporate office, retail, cloud, data center, and remote offices.
- Analyze technical architectures and provide guidance on systems performance improvements as impacted by network architecture.
- Create and maintain relevant network procedure and architecture reference documentation.
- Follow Networking, Production Support, and IT Security guidelines and standards.
QUALIFICATIONS: - 10 years of experience in networking preferred.
- Excellent network troubleshooting and problem isolation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment with competing priorities.
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
- Expert knowledge and / or aptitude to learn to operate the following platforms:
- Palo Alto Networks Firewall and VPN
- Network Automation - Flask, Python, Git, etc.
- Private Cloud networking (GCP/AWS/Azure)
- Load balancers
- Cisco NX OS / ACI / DNA Center
- Atlassian tools - Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket
- Cisco ISE / Radius / TACACS
- SDWAN technologies
- Cisco and Meraki wireless and switching
- IGP and EGP routing protocols
