Are you an experienced Data Governance Analyst Specialist in search of an opportunity to collaborate with team members to help lead enterprise-wide data governance activities happening across the business and technology partners?

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our innovative Enterprise Data Governance team. You will play an integral part in distributing and enforcing data governance programs including Metadata Management, Data and Security Policies, Standards, Cataloging, Data Lineage, and Stewardship Onboarding.

Understanding and carrying out the existing data governance operating model, using technology and data governance tools to automate data governance, and identifying key opportunities to help solve business problems will be the initial expectations. The ability to influence business and IT partners, articulate data concepts to business communities, and develop innovative data solutions will be key to success.

• Execute the organization’s data governance operating model and collaborate with various American Century business and technical teams to implement enterprise data policies and standards for the organization
• Monitor the progress of Data Domain teams for the rollout of data governance practices and provide education, training, and support as needed
• Ensure data aligns with regulatory requirements as needed
• Oversight and regular review of Data Domain Team deliverables related to data governance practices: 1. Data maps 2. Data issue tracking 3. Metadata documentation 4. Data procedures documentation 5. Service Level Agreements 6. Access and security requirements 7. Audit and retention requirements
• Partner with Data Owners and Data Stewards to develop workflows, dashboards, and automation of data governance activities within our data governance tools
• Partner with HR’s Learning and Development team to curate and deploy Data Governance, Data Stewardship, and Tool required training
• Act as a Collibra administrator and help train domain teams and consumers on the platform. Drive adoption of, and guide the proper use of, features and functionality available within the tool
• Work closely with our tool vendors on roadmap items for implementation and provide feedback for additional improvements that would benefit American Century
• Manage internal data products, including reference data, metadata, data quality results, and SharePoint content

Required:

• Have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience in a related field
• Demonstrated effectiveness working in a dynamic and high-paced environment
• 3 or more years of confirmed experience working on a team engaged in data governance, data management, or data operations
• Experience with data governance, metadata, data mapping, and data lineage tools, such as Collibra, Informatica, IBM IGC, etc.
• Validated innovator and a strategic problem solver in the data governance space
• Outstanding interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization in both verbal and written form
• Ability to approach and solve problems in an analytical and methodical manner
• Familiarity with data security and protection methodologies
• Comfortable with working in an agile work environment
• Ability to be proactive and collaborative in ambiguous situations

Preferred:

• 5 years of experience in the asset management industry, with strong domain knowledge of data management technology and operations.
• Experience working with cloud technologies
• Experience in policy and standards development and maintenance
• Finance, Accounting, or related education preferred
• Project Management, Agile, or Six Sigma skills are a plus
• Experience with Mulesoft Anypoint Studio or BPMN are a plus
