American Care Academy is seeking educators that are passionate about early childhood development and progressive education. . This position is for eligible candidates looking to pursue or continue a career as an educator. Eligible candidates must have experience in a licensed childcare facility or an equivalent in education. This position will require continuous progression of education and training in childhood development and early childhood education.

POSITION TITLE:School Age Teacher 

DEPARTMENT:Education 

Position reports to: Director

Work with school age children and enjoy the flexibility of a split schedule. No experience required.

American Care Academy is seeking reliable and responsible individuals looking to make a difference in their community.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of school age children at all times.
• Safely transport children from school to after school care
• Complete a daily inspection of the van, a weekly inspection of tires, oil, blades, etc. and report all van maintenance issues to direct Supervisor.
• Follow transportation policies and procedures at all times
• Maintain transportation logs according to procedure
• Communicate with children effectively (according to their developmental age)
• Diffuse and resolve conflicts between children
• Facilitate activities for after school fun

Job Requirements

· Must be at least 21 years old

· High School Diploma or GED

· Have a valid Driver’s License – clean driving record for past 7 years

· Preferably, at least 1 year working in a licensed child care facility

· Excellent communication skills

· Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with families and colleagues

Skills & Abilities:

· Proficient Knowledge of Texas Childcare Licensing Minimum Standards

· Passion for Early Childhood Education and providing a loving, nurturing, and exciting learning experience.

· Interacts with children and coworkers in a positive manner

· Theatrical presentation in the classroom

· Flexible

· Good sense of humor

· Able to lift at least 40 lbs.

· Able to walk, kneel, stoop, bend and sit on floor.
