Overview

We are looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic for a growing team at a manufacturing and distribution company in Sanford, Florida. American Builders Supply is Florida’s largest independent supplier of lumber, truss, doors and windows. We provide building materials for the residential building market statewide with locations in Jacksonville, Sanford, Clermont, Melbourne, Winter Haven, Tampa and Fort Myers.

Duties include changing oil, changing tires, and 13-point inspections. Must be a quick learner and have Diesel mechanical knowledge.

Mandatory Requirements:

Experience with fleet maintenance

Experience with Diesel Engines

Educational Background:

High school diploma or equivalent education required.

Knowledge:

Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues with various automotive systems Knowledge of brakes, drive train, electrical components, vacuum systems, and body.

Ability with some supervision to use computer-based diagnostic systems

Skills:

Prior experience doing Diesel mechanics in a shop is required

Ability to work with hand tools is required.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time with continuous bending and twisting

Must be available to work scheduled hours depending on the needs of the branch

Must be at least 18 years of age Valid Driver's License with clean motor vehicle record Annual MVR checks will be performed if hired.
