A Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for performing various functions required to enable customer order fulfillment and is required to rotate through all tasks and duties. Night Shift: - Hours are 11:00 PM-7:30 AM Essential Duties & Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Receiving Materials Requires sorting, comparing, and verifying materials delivered to manufacturer packing lists and ABC Purchase Orders and/or truck bills. Requires manual lifting and moving products up to 70 pounds. Forklift operation may also be required. Stocking Materials Placement of inbound materials at designated areas as determined by ABC receiving documents or as instructed by the Warehouse Manager, Supervisor, or the Receiving Department. Requires the ability to read and verify the product, product location, number, description, and quantity to place in the stock location. May require manual lifting and moving products up to 70 pounds. Forklift operation may also be required. Induct Station Requires the ability to interact with AS400 and PC-driven conveyor sortation computer hardware to begin the order fulfillment process or stock replenishment. Sort, collate, and dispense multiple documents. Must have the ability to simultaneously interact with co-workers in person, via two-way radio and/or telephone. Picking Products Requires the ability to read and verify the product, product location, number, description, and quantity to pick from picking tickets for order fulfillment. Requires placing products in boxes, on skids, carts, or in totes. May require manual lifting and moving products up to 70 pounds. Forklift operation may also be required. Packing Products Requires the ability to read and verify the product, number, description, and quantity. Requires preparation of products for shipping. Products may be placed on pallets or shipped as loose items. Placement of products on pallets and repacking of products into shipping cartons shall be done in a manner that will prevent or minimize damage in shipment to the customer. May require manual lifting and moving products up to 70 pounds. Shipping Requires verification of customer address and piece counts. Requires the ability to create computer-generated Bill of Ladings for Common Carriers Requires use of a forklift or manual hand loading of outbound freight carriers or customer pickups. May require manual lifting and moving up to 70 pounds. Operation of Warehouse Equipment Training will be provided for all warehouse equipment to be used in each task to be performed. Equipment includes but is not limited to Forklifts, Pallet Jacks, Dock Levelers, Trailer Braces, Battery Chargers, Freight Elevators, Conveyors, PCs, Handheld Scanners, Shrink Wrap Machines, and Lifting Tables. Loading and Unloading Products Requires use of a forklift or manual hand loading and unloading of inbound freight carriers, outbound freight carriers, or customer pickups or returns. May require manual lifting and moving up to 70 pounds. Inventory Cycle Counts Involves counting and/or verification of on-hand inventory against computer information or information provided by the Warehouse Manager, Supervisor, or other ABC Associates. May require manual lifting and moving up to 70 pounds. Physical Inventory Counts Involves verification of on-hand inventory against computer information by counting physical inventory and reconciling count against computer information. May require manual lifting and moving up to 70 pounds. Assisting Other Associates Giving verbal or physical assistance to other associates as requested by the supervisor or fellow associates in completing their assigned tasks. Qualifications: Attention to Detail Must have the ability to pay close attention to detail with 100% accuracy comparing items to purchase orders, packing lists, picking tickets, shelf labels, and identification tags to ensure proper receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and accurate customer order fulfillment. Ability to Multitask Must be able to successfully work on more than one task at a time. May be required to expedite customer orders, assist fellow associates, operate forklifts, or other tasks given to you by your supervisor at the same time working to complete your assignment. Organizational Skills Must have organizational skills sufficient to prioritize work and complete assignments accurately, either independently or as part of a team, possibly under pressure and with frequent interruptions, working from own initiative and/or following directions, policies, or procedures, Must keep paperwork neat and legible, workstations organized, work areas clean and organized. Mathematical Skills Basic math skills include the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and ability to use a calculator. Communication Skills Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions and must be able to effectively communicate one-on-one and in group situations. Computer Experience / Skills Basic knowledge of computers / PCs and their operation including but not limited to e-mail, keyboard functions, and how to use a mouse and printers.
