Position Overview: We are seeking a Creative Director to lead our creative team and oversee the development of visual assets across various digital channels. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of digital design principles as they apply both to performance marketing as well as brand building, strong leadership skills, and a passion for cycling. This role will involve managing an in-house production team and driving a cultural shift to mobile first design and UX thinking. This is an on-site role located at our Chattanooga, TN headquarters.

Key Responsibilities:

Creative Direction and Strategy:

  • Establish brand identity for each in house brand at ABG, in alignment with ABG strategic direction
  • Support brand identify with a functional style guide that can be used internally and externally
  • Elevate the visual appeal and user experience across our digital landscape and performance marketing channels

Team Management and Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor an in-house production team, including designers, photographers, and videographers
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that seeks opportunity for change, and rewards innovation, growth and productivity
  • Ensure performance marketing teams are supplied with creative assets proactively and in response to short term market demands

Agency Collaboration and Oversight:

  • Serve as the primary stakeholder for creative deliverables contracted through agencies engaged in projects with ABG
  • Provide clear direction and feedback to the agency to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality assets that align with our brand guidelines and standards

UX/UI Innovation and Mobile Migration:

  • Drive the integration of UX/UI principles into the creative process, ensuring that our digital experiences are intuitive, user-friendly, and high performing
  • Successfully deliver UXI designs that enable customer engagement on mobile platforms, optimizing for performance, responsiveness, and usability

Project Execution:

  • Develop a cultural bias for action, leveraging MVP principles in digital creative projects, and giving the team freedom to innovate at a high pace
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of creative projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with brand standards
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to understand and communicate requirements, establish timelines, and manage expectations throughout the creative process

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Creative Director or in a similar leadership role, preferably within the cycling or outdoor recreation sectors.
  • A demonstrated passion for the active outdoor and cycling markets, and a proven history of self education and immersion in the markets you’ve served.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing both demand generation and brand work, with a focus on mobile user experience.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate creative professionals.
  • Proficiency in design software and tools, as well as a solid understanding of design principles and trends.
  • Experience working with interactive agencies and managing web development projects is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in design, marketing, communications, or a related field (preferred).
