AMERICAN BANK & TRUST is Hiring a Personal Banker Near Pierre, SD

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: (90%)

  • Interact with customers in a courteous, professional, and friendly manner to identify their needs. 
  • Provides the products needed for the customer or cross-sells to the appropriate areas of the Bank to identify solutions for those needs.
  • Opens and closes all types of deposit accounts including checking, savings, certificates of deposits, and IRA's.
  • Interview consumer loan applicants for credit and obtain financial information and obtain appropriate information to make loan decisions. Process and maintain branch consumer loan files.
  • Responsible for IRA distributions, sales, and reporting.
  • Establish a call program to generate business and provide excellent relational communication with current customers.
  • Process debit card requests and assist customers as needed.
  • Connect customers to Online Banking and other Retail Technological Products and assist with related banking issues. Assist customers with on-line account openings, account maintenance, etc. May be called upon to answer calls as part of the call center. 
  • Support the teller line by processing transactions as needed.
  • Initiate wire transfers.
  • Participate in branch events by working the event and engaging with customers.
  • May be called upon to assist with commercial and ag loan checkbacks.
  • In rural branch locations, may be called upon to supervise the Teller/CSR staff. This will include coaching and mentoring, training, scheduling, timekeeping, and personnel related items.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: (10%)

  • Attend to reception area in the absence of attendant.
  • Provide assistance if needed for accounts payable, loan maintenance, account monitoring, and other areas if needed.
  • May be called upon to conduct quarterly compliance audits, branch security testing and log keeping, and other branch responsibilities.
  • Participate in Retail meetings.
  • Adhere to compliance procedures and participate in required training.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • High School Diploma or the equivalent

Experience

  • Minimum 2-5 year of previous banking/lending experience preferred.

  • Achieves a minimum of 3 referrals quarterly.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed largely within the Bank with limited chance for personal injury. Prolonged and frequent mental and visual concentration required. Periodic stressful situations in response to multiple priorities within established deadlines. Work hours are generally during normal business hours. Unscheduled evening and weekend work may be needed to meet the needs of customers and employees. Occasional out-of-town and overnight business travel may be required. Work on some Saturdays will be required. Must be able to lift and move up to 20 pounds of office supplies and equipment. Some bending, turning, and twisting required.
