AAP is a national member-owned cooperative comprised of nearly 2,500 independent pharmacies. AAP began operations on Sept. 1, 2009, when two major pharmacy cooperatives – United Drugs of Phoenix, Ariz., and Associated Pharmacies, Inc., of Scottsboro, Ala. – joined forces to form one of America’s largest and most comprehensive independent pharmacy organizations.

AAP is currently looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. 

Position: Infrastructure Engineer I

Position Type: Full-time Salaried / Exempt

Job Location: Onsite - Scottsboro, AL (Open to occasional remote work)

Position Summary

The Infrastructure Engineer plays a critical role in the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of AAP’s infrastructure and provides workstation support and server management, and secondary support for network and telecommunications infrastructure and systems.

Responsibilities:

• Provide IT system and user administration support, including network troubleshooting and workstation imaging and deployment.
• Support the configuration and installation of various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
• Deploy client and server network software for upgrading and maintaining system, network and telecommunication systems
• Support enterprise IT asset management, purchasing and inventory management processes and practices
• Monitor performance and system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning to ensure system availability and reliability
• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies, and collaborate to implement security standards, policies, and best practices
• Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
• Provide Tier 1 – 3 help desk support, using troubleshooting skills to resolve issues
• Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
• Participate in the selection and implementation of security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team
• Develop and maintain infrastructure best practices, documentation, policies and procedures
• Provide infrastructure support for MS Dynamics
• Interact with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
• All other duties, as assigned

Requirements:

• Proven hands-on network engineering experience and systems engineering experience (5 years)
• Understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS), OSI or TCP/IP
• 5 years of experience with Windows 7 ; knowledge of Windows 2012/2016 server domains and VMware 6.x
• Basic knowledge of SQL, PHP and/or HTML
• Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, help desk and other core services
• Experience with backup solutions such as Veeam, Acronis, other
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work alone and in a team setting
• Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
• Experience with, or knowledge of, HIPAA data privacy and security standards preferred
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with cross-functional teams
• Minimum of Associate’s degree in IS, Computer Science or a related subject, or equivalent work experience as a substitute
