American Academy of Sleep Medicine is Hiring a Quality Project Manager Near Darien, IL

As a result, only local candidates will be considered for this position.

Job Summary

We’re growing our health policy team! The Quality Project Manager will manage all quality initiatives, including but not limited to maintaining the AASM quality measure portfolio, overseeing the Sleep Clinical Data Registry (CDR), and managing the activities of the Quality Measures Task Force. They will also serve as the primary point of contact and project manager for all AASM quality initiatives and national quality reporting programs.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience with quality measure development, specification, and/or testing, familiarity with the Quality Payment Program, strong project management skills, and an understanding of the proper balance of working efficiently both independently and collaboratively with teammates. Projects are planned, led with confidence, and completed on time.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Serves as staff liaison to the Quality Measures Task Force as well as other related task forces as necessary
  • Responds to member inquiries related to Sleep CDR, quality measures, and initiatives
  • Develops and maintains educational resources and products related to quality measures, clinical data registry implementation, national quality reporting programs
  • Researches and response to new policies and legislation impacting sleep medicine quality including, but not limited to, the Quality Payment Program policies included in the Physician Fee Schedule
  • Develops member communications about changes in quality initiatives and changes in the healthcare landscape that may impact the field of sleep medicine
  • Serves as staff representative on mandatory QCDR vendor calls and serves as the primary contact for CMS quality measure teams (QMMS, PMMS)- facilitating AASM self-nomination submissions and submitting annual updates to the AASM quality measures included in MIPS
  • Helps maintain relationships between the Academy and other groups, societies, and associations with related interests
  • Helps facilitate efforts to build relationships and communication channels with other medical specialty societies that are measure stewards and host clinical data registries
  • Supports the dissemination of quality measures and quality measure publications to AASM members
  • Some travel (up to 10%) is required with this position, which may include weekends

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office products
  • Basic understanding of quality measure methodology
  • Minimum 3 years experience with quality measure development, specifications, and/or testing
  • Familiarity with the Quality Payment Program
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects at one time; strong organizational skills required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management and administration
  • Team-focused with strong interpersonal communication skills, and an ability to collaborate with colleagues at all levels of the organization
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Excellence in writing, and verbal communication, analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to respond quickly to deadlines and shift priorities without losing sight of the big picture.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, clinical practice guidelines, technical reports, and governmental regulations
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from members, payers, and the general public
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
  • Experience with clinical data registries
