The Intervention Specialist provides services tochildren with a variety of developmental disabilities or delays. The Early Intervention Specialist works withchildren in a variety of settings to help implement personalized focused treatmentprograms to increase positive outcomes and independence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supports children and their families with developmentaldisabilities, mental health or behavioral disorders, etc.
• Conducts referrals, intakes, and screening relatedactivities
• Carries out therapist-prescribed interventions
• Assists with physical and motor skills development
• Assesses delays with cognitive, adaptive, social/ emotionalskills and communication skills
• Provides administration and scoring of development usingappropriate assessment tools
• Provides service coordination activities
• Works in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team todevelop and implement goals and objectives
• Participates in evaluation/assessment process asapplicable

Minimum Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university preferred
• Valid state teaching certificate or early childhood educationas required by state regulations and/or contract
• One year experience as an Early Intervention Specialistpreferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
• Participation and completion of Amergis’ Competency programwhen applicable
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site
• Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements
• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the Englishlanguage is required
• Computer proficiency required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
