Ameresco is looking for a skilled and experienced Controls Technician I to be based out of our office location in Fort Myers, Florida. Responsibilities: Documenting system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting and able to use accurate and detailed documentation for future reference. Ensures compliance with electrical codes, lockout/tagout procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and embraces a safety mindset. Possesses a logical and analytical mindset and approach to diagnosing and solving problems efficiently. Interacting with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders. Develop complex control strategies, custom algorithms, and logic sequences. Know and use common communication protocols used in DDC systems, such as BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, or SNMP. Demonstrate advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose complex system issues efficiently. Utilize diagnostic tools, equipment, and techniques to identify and resolve problems. Execute project management skills to oversee and execute DDC control projects effectively. Demonstrate leadership qualities and the ability to provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians. Minimum Responsibilities: Minimum of 8 years of hands-on-experience working directly with HVAC and Building Automation/DDC Controls DDC control systems in commercial building applications. Associate’s degree or technical certification in HVAC and/or Building Automation/DDC Controls systems. Valid driver’s license in good standing and the ability to travel to various job sites as required. Willingness to travel up to 2 hours from home to project locations, and willingness to stay overnight on select projects that exceed 2-hour one-way commute. Additional Responsibilities: In-depth knowledge and understanding of common Commercial Building HVAC systems. Ability to read and interpret advanced controls drawings, schematics and specifications. Ability to work independently when necessary and meet production goals and requirements.
