Job Description Job Overview: The Procurement Analyst provides key analytical support and expertise as a member of the Group Procurement team. The position is responsible for data mining, analyzing and interpreting information obtained across various business software systems, public databases and other sources. The position collates the information to provide accurate and complete data sets as input for development of forecasts, Requests for Quotations, negotiations, procurement strategies, order optimization, and other procurement tools. In collaboration with the category managers, the individual is involved in the development and implementation of category strategies in such areas as: Resins and Liquids. The Procurement Analyst is directly responsible for the maintenance of pricing updates within the business systems. Job Dimensions: 10 – 15% domestic travel. US emphasis. Strong collaboration with Global Procurement as well as regional business groups across the world. Principal Accountabilities: Collect economic data from applicable data sources to prepare and maintain pricing trend data on key commodities for reports to internal team as well as business leadership. Build an accurate forecast for category price movements. Coordinate price changes in systems through use of published indices and manage communications with impacted sites and suppliers. Maintain purchase contracts and vendor master data in the SAP system. Support Procurement leadership and co-workers in all data requests. Use analytic techniques to support procurement projects. Establish and maintain communication channels with leadership, key team members and internal business units for data gathering, validation, analysis and reporting. Enlist benchmarking to identify best practices and next stage improvement areas. Gather data across several source systems to populate and report progress via supplier scorecards and internal dashboards. Conduct market analysis through generation of supplier lists, creation of Requests for Quotation and identification of key evaluation data elements. Participate in the evaluation plan to determine the feasibility of the bid/tender using qualitative techniques. Analyse and report bid response data in suitable formats for ease of comparison and selection. Provide negotiation support to category managers. Support analysis and evaluation of complex bid award scenarios. Determine savings calculations and forecasts. Perform scenarios and sensitivity analysis to obtain input or buy-in from internal stakeholders and leadership. Create tender packages as well as comprehensive supplier evaluation models, such as total cost of ownership analysis, scenario modelling, financial modelling and sensitivity analysis. Prepare presentation slides for leadership reports, supporting specific categories. Track and report savings, support procure-to-pay process improvement and monitor cost savings as well as working capital improvements using the tracking tools in place. Identify gaps in policies, processes and procedures leading to incorrect data and propose solutions and lead cross functional teams to execute proposed solutions. Major challenges & complexities: Work concurrently on multiple and complex projects. Build constructive relationships with internal stakeholders to understand their business and procurement needs. Ability to work collaborate and build strong relationship across the organization (such as Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, IT) to ensure understanding and compliance with key procurement strategies. Effectively liaise with multiple stakeholders having, at times, conflicting needs and priorities. Develop trust within the businesses so that, where there are conflicting priorities or other issues, manage these to ensure that all involved understand the issues and agree with the solutions put forward. Develop supplier relationships in a way that encourages open dialogue and cooperating in identifying and implementing win-win situations that add value to both organizations. Relationships: Internal: Procurement Team; Functional Teams such as Finance, HR, IT, etc.; Site teams; Corporate Procurement team co-workers; Business Group procurement teams. External: Suppliers; Industry Associations. Qualifications/Requirements Knowledge & Experience: 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience. SAP and/or other ERP systems experience an advantage. Proficient user of Microsoft Excel required (experience with pivot tables, v-look ups, programming, macros, sorts and filters) and Power BI. Experience with CliqView, Tableau, Alteryx or similar tools to analyze large data sets is an advantage. Adept in PowerPoint and Word at minimum intermediate level. Relevant experience in a company with a mature procurement function / manufacturing organization preferred. Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s level degree in Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain or equivalent. Master’s Degree as an advantage. Certification in Excel, SAP, Tableau or other tools as an advantage. Skills/Abilities/Behaviours: Strong understanding and demonstrated commitment to ethical procurement behaviour. Attention to detail. Able to communicate data concepts and issues clearly Excellent quantitative analysis and analytical skills. Self-directed to problem-solving. Strong action/results orientation with the ability to work with minimal oversight, to be self-motivated and proactive in achieving individual/team objectives. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to articulate views convincingly and influence internal clients and external suppliers. Demonstrated understanding of working in a complex environment and interaction with other functions and business groups. Working knowledge of purchasing processes and supplier quality systems. Financial acumen and familiarity with business accounting terms as an advantage.
