At Amcor Rigid Packaging (ARP), our teams are focused on developing and making plastic bottles and jars that create a unique experience and are better for the environment. Our bottles and jars are primarily made from PET (polyethylene terephthalate), which has rapidly become the world’s preferred packaging material. PET is lightweight, shatterproof, recloseable, resealable, reusable and infinitely recyclable*.
With approximately 6,000 people across about 50 manufacturing operations in 11 countries and an annual revenue of US$2.9 Billion, ARP provides rigid packaging solutions to the beverage, pharmaceutical, food, and home and personal care segments.

About the Role
The packer is responsible for safely inspecting, packing, and finishing final product according to specifications for multiple lines, while removing non-conforming pieces.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
  • Must be able to learn and comply with all Amcor Rigid Packaging's safety rules/regulations.
  • Responsible for wearing designated PPE.
  • Perform safety audits and/or observations.
  • Pack product according to SOP including verifying proper product and labels used.
  • Must be able to learn and comply with all SOPs and JSAs related to packing and finishing product.
  • Perform visual quality checks and report issues appropriately.
  • Work in rework area as required.
  • Keep assigned work areas clean, neat, organized, and free from safety hazards.
  • Show-up for work on time and work all scheduled shifts.
  • Carry out duties and responsibilities in a positive way and in the spirit of cooperation and support of others.
  • Fully meet the duties and responsibilities of the position.
  • Treat people fairly, equally and with respect.
  • Be honest at all times and to conduct oneself with the highest degree of personal integrity.
  • Communicate the right information, to the appropriate people, in an effective and timely manner.
  • Be able to use simple computer programs to print labels and to complete monthly safety trainings, audits, and safety timeouts.
  • Must be committed to providing our customers a product that is safe and meets specifications, regulations, and statutory requirements.

About You
  • Highschool diploma or equivalency preferred; in lieu of education, equivalent experience accepted.
  • Good communications skills.
  • Must be motivated, possess a high attention to detail and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Must have the necessary skills to perform reading, writing and mathematics in English as required.
  • Must be able to multi-task and effectively work with co-workers.
  • Must be able to physically move including climbing, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, bending, etc. (up to 25 lbs.)
