Job Description Position Overview: This position will deliver sustainable OEE improvements by implementing LSS and Amcor’s approach to continuous improvement, known as the Amcor Manufacturing System (AMS). Success will be measured in terms of hard dollar impact to the site P&L from Continuous Improvement activities. In addition to a “can-do” attitude, this role requires leadership and change management skills, problem solving, technology expertise, project management discipline and extensive experience in operational excellence and process improvement. The position will lead, train, coach, inspire and mentor individuals throughout the facility using the AMS methodology. Additionally, this position may support future LSSGB and LSSBB training waves as required across ARPNA (Amcor Rigid Plastics North America) in helping ARP become a true LSS organization. Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Key Duties Lead and drive asset OEE sustainable improvements Bring visibility to improvement opportunities and coalesce a structured focus on priorities Lead and drive the CI process throughout the site via “hands-on” support and leadership of successful CI initiatives Act as change agent to instill a site Continuous Improvement culture for result delivery Partner with plant controlling to understand, measure, and record financial impacts of CI initiatives and OEE improvements Partner with plant leadership to build team unity and alignment on improvement activities Partner with key functional area teams to drive improvement results Monitor performance and improvements in key metrics, and establish metrics, as needed Acting as a technical expert, coach and train other team members in the use of CI processes and tools Facilitate / Lead cross-functional improvement teams, as needed Collect and analyze data to identify solutions based on root cause analysis Create value stream and/or process maps to help standardize process and workflow where necessary Occasional cross facility / function CI value creation Mentor site Green Belts Facilitate Kaizen activities to identify and eliminate waste and defects Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree Engineering or related field Minimum 5 years of process improvement experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the packaging industry—including extensive practice with Lean Principles and Tools Formal Lean Six Sigma certification required Competence with waste identification and elimination, process mapping, data analytics, and reporting tools (e.g. Visio, Minitab, Excel, Power BI, etc.) Proven track record for developing, training, and coaching teams Proven track record for delivering operating savings YoY Able to filter cultural, human, machine, and data inputs to problem solve and set direction Able to communicate to a broad audience from novice to expert Strong coaching, counseling, and interpersonal skills Excellent public speaking and written skills Previous plant or operational management experience preferred Travel 10 - 20% Our Expectations We expect our people to be guided by The Amcor Way and demonstrate our Values every day to enable the business to win.
