This position requires a current Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®) certification in behavior analysis. Continuing education courses to maintain BCBA certification are necessary as well as keeping current with the literature, new research findings and resources.
Must have a valid Driver’s license and transportation that is reliable and insured, as well as be able to lift 50lbs unaided.
The BCBA will provide support to adults in their own homes by coordinating and providing services in Applied Behavior Analysis, function analyses and assessment, positive behavior acquisition and reduction procedures, and adaptive life skills. The BCBA will also oversee programming and provide ongoing support and supervision to Direct Support Professionals (DSP) as it relates to the implementation and documentation associated with Positive Behavior Support Plans.
RESPONSIBILIITES:
· Provide oversight to all areas of programming including the training of direct support professionals in implementation of positive behavior support plans, crisis prevention and de-escalation techniques.
· Ongoing training and supervision of direct support professionals in implementation of ABA principles and methodology and behavior reduction strategies.
· Create ongoing data collection system to establish baseline and programmatic efficacy for all clients, and to analyze data on a frequent and ongoing basis to guide programming.
· Develop positive behavior support plans for all clients with a focus on teaching and other antecedent strategies for reducing maladaptive behavior(s).
· Meet with interdisciplinary team to discuss ongoing treatment issues and to provide support when necessary.
· Review and sign off on positive behavior support plan training for all direct support professionals and provide field supervision when necessary.
· Maintain ongoing communication with all collateral contacts (Developmental Disabilities Administration, parents/guardians, and support agencies).
· Keep current with the literature, new research findings and resources. In addition, continuing education courses to maintain BCBA certification are necessary.
· Maintain all data, paperwork, and training between direct support staff and collateral contacts.
