We are seeking a skilled and experienced Service Technician Journeyman to join our team and contribute to our mission of excellence in HVAC system design, installation, and maintenance. As a Service Technician Journeyman, you will be responsible for performing service, maintenance, and repair to a variety of commercial HVAC equipment including commercial boilers, water and air-cooled chillers, water source heat pumps, package equipment, large split systems, electric motors, various size pumps and hydronic control devices. The successful candidate will have a basic understanding of building automation systems and different control strategies.

These systems may include water, gas, steam, and air distribution systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.

Responsibilities:

Your knowledge of Commercial HVAC will be critical in working on a variety of installations, repairs, and maintenance projects. The job tasks will include, but not be limited to, performing maintenance and repairs to general to complex HVAC components.

· Plan and perform Preventive Maintenance of HVAC Systems

· Plan shutdowns for maintenance and repair pumps including chilled water, heating, and steam condensate pumps

· Troubleshoot, repair, and make modifications to HVAC Systems

· Reading and interpreting City, State, and EPA regulations. Maintain maintenance records as required by City, State, and EPA regulations

· Order and maintain parts needed to repair and maintain HVAC Equipment

· Manage relationship with all vendor and customer accounts

· Properly maintain and safeguard companies’ assets

· Performing regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units

· Installing, replacing, or repairing equipment; including the need to calibrate thermostatic controls; worn heating, ventilation and air-conditioning parts and equipment; repair or replace low- and high-pressure liquid lines etc

· Assembling and installing metal ductwork

· Assisting in planning and designing of new installations of heating and air-conditioning systems

· Providing estimates of materials required

· Reading blueprints, floor plans and wiring diagrams

· Establishing and maintain effective relationships with customers and their representatives

· Safely operating company vehicles, machinery, and equipment

· Recognizing risks and safety hazards commonly found in HVAC operations, and implementing appropriate controls to ensure safe work; collaborate with management personnel to maintain safe working environments

· Completes other duties as assigned

Service Technician Qualifications / Skills:

• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent
• Journeyman service technician and/or HVAC license preferred
• Extensive knowledge of codes
• Experience piping with cooling towers, chillers, boilers, large roof top equipment
• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or equivalent experience
• Proven experience as a Journeyman
• Strong knowledge of plumbing and piping systems
• 5 year experience as an HVAC technician, and willingness to continue education in HVAC field
