We are looking for a Software Development Engineer for the Live Streaming team. Our platform supports streaming of thousands of Linear channels and live sports events such as Thursday Night Football, English Premier League, NBA, MLB, ATP tennis, French Open, UEFA Champions League (list goes on..) world-wide at large scale. As Sr. SDE for Live Streaming team, you are in-charge of building large scale automation workflows to help setup, tear-down and life cycle management of live infrastructure to support live events and 24x7 linear channels globally for prime video customers. You will get to work on a lot of established as well as green field AWS technologies and design large scale backend systems from scratch. You will also be exposed to industry leading encoding technologies such as 4K/HDR/Atmos and gain a deep understanding of Prime Video's Live platform.
Key job responsibilities
Lead design, implementation, testing, and delivery of large scale live infrastructure life cycle management workflows.
Participate in code and design reviews.
Train/mentor teammates as well as other engineering teams.
Work directly with dependencies, product and business teams to ensure quality delivery.
We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
Seattle, WA, USA
- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3 years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
