DESCRIPTION
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is building a world-class marketing organization, and we are looking for a Software Development Engineer to join Marketing Data: Science & Engineering (D:SE) organization to lead the architectural design and implementation of our new initiative, a generative AI catalog service, that serves content creation use cases for all marketing teams. You will work with scientists and engineers within the team, and partner with other science, economics, engineering, product and business teams across AWS Marketing to build the next generation marketing AI/ML and measurement capabilities directly leading to improvements in our key performance metrics.
We’re looking for a passionate, results-oriented, and inventive Software Development Engineer who can own design, architect, and implement generation AI applications for AWS marketing stakeholders. You will work closely with our scientists and other software engineers to disambiguate marketing problems and create AI/ML solutions to solve those problems at scale. You will directly impact our direct customers, and play with big data and incredible scale in the background.
Key job responsibilities
- You will own the design, development, deployment, and innovation of advanced functions in the strategic area of generative AI to drive business impact and improve customer experience
- You will partner with scientists, economists, engineers, and product leaders to break down complex business problems into quantitative approaches to be solved with the vast amount of available data
- You have written and verbal communications skills to convey complicated process and systems to business partners and leadership with varying level of technical sophistication
- You are passionate to continuously learn and apply the latest best practices in literature and industry to address the evolving business requirements
- You will influence organizations’s long-term engineering and science initiatives, and mentor other engineers in AWS

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
