Amazon is Hiring a Senior Technical Product Manager , Modeling and Optimization Near Bellevue, WA

DESCRIPTION

Amazon’s Modeling and Optimization Team is looking for a passionate, talented Senior Technical Product Manager to lead the growth of a high impact portfolio of tech and research products in the transportation space, and partner with stakeholders in using those products to drive high-impact business-critical decisions.
Key job responsibilities
To accomplish this, we expect you to have an established background in research and development with an emphasis on transportation and logistics, excellent project management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a dynamic environment. You should enjoy working on complex projects involving significant coordination between organizations, be customer-centric, and feel strongly about building the most innovative solutions to operate complex and large transportation networks.
A day in the life
As part of the team, you will regularly interact with executive leadership and work with business teams to define program strategy, roadmap, technology and execution. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment and will be required to lead not only at the strategic level, but also tactically day-to-day by diving deeply into business and technical domains. As a multi-discipline leader, the buck will stop with you - you will work alongside our talented research scientists and development engineers.
About the team
The team is responsible for optimizing the global transportation and fulfillment network for Amazon.com and ensuring that the company is able to deliver our customers’ products to them as quickly, accurately, and cost effectively as possible. We manage the flow of packages from fulfillment centers (FCs) to end customers, through both Amazon’s internal network as well as external partners, using ground and air methods. Optimizing these package flows requires designing the structure and operating parameters of the network, optimizing operations such as linehaul movements and sortation scheduling, and making the right capital investments in technology, buildings and equipment.
