DESCRIPTION

Do you want to be at the center of Amazon's largest and most-disruptive business? Amazon's Operations IPAT Finance team would be the place for you! As part of the IPAT team, you will play a key role in directly supporting the Operations Senior leadership team. The Operations team represents Fulfillment Centers, Transportation Network, Customer Service and Physical Stores, as well as an array of innovative new investments including the drone delivery program, and Amazon Go just walk out stores. The IPAT team is tasked with the challenge of building the new finance systems, processes, and analytics to support strategic decision making as we continue to grow in complexity and size.
This role will focus on operating expenses and key business metrics, influencing the strategic direction of FP&A, owning the central execution for the organization, including improving the methods we use to forecast and analyze our expenses and changing the way we architect our analytics to track key investments. This role will involve partnering with teams across the organization to drive progress towards truly automated planning, reporting, and analytics.
The successful candidate will have shown experience in past roles influencing senior leaders and supporting decision making in rapidly evolving environments. The candidate must have the aptitude to incorporate new approaches and methodologies while dealing with complex data. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must to develop and define key business questions and to build data sets that answer those questions.

This role also has regular interaction with various business teams across Amazon Operations and requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Key job responsibilities
• Oversee financial reporting for Operations. Understand input drivers and validate integrity of the reporting to influence strategic decision-making and planning. Use data to identify disruptive ideas and provide advice to business leaders.
• With Controllership as the top priority, you identify, resolve, or provide guidance to resolve complex data integrity issues. You improve controls to address financial risk and support frugality.
• Leading ad hoc financial modelling and analysis and providing data driven insights into variances and trends
• Use active listening skills intuitively to communicate data (both written and verbal) in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner. Adjust style for various audiences to articulate complex finance issues clearly. Your communications drive critical business decisions.
• Have backbone, disagree and commit to foster constructive dialogues, harmonize conflicting views, resolve issues, and drive decisions.
• Identify and sponsor Finance-wide professional development and engagement initiatives that plan for the future and strengthen the global Finance community, such as inclusion and diversity initiatives.
• Become an expert in your lane to contribute to work-life harmony. You are a positive, collaborative, and effective influencer to new team members and model operations excellence and efficiency.
