The Loss Prevention tech team is a function of the Global Security and Loss Prevention (S&LP). LP Tech team provides innovative and world class security solutions incorporating Amazon risk-based methodology, industry best practices, and global standards
We are looking for a talented Salesforce Support Engineer who is eager to shine by designing and developing world-class solutions. The engineering candidate wants to have ownership of a domain to deliver meaning results to the Loss Prevention customers. Additionally, we encourage the use of new technologies such as machine learning when the technology provides a clear advantage.
Successful candidates for this position will have a strong background in designing and developing world-class services in Salesforce and Javascript . Equally important to these specific candidate skills are excellent written and verbal communication skills both with the team and external teams, the ability to multi-task, the ability to translate business requirements to engineering requirements, the ability adapt quickly to new environments and using creativity to solve difficult problems in a world-class engineering team.
Key job responsibilities
• Gather business requirements from a diverse number of users and translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Development, configuration, and administration of Salesforce and integration with other Amazon databases/systems.
• Responsible for developing in Force.com, Lightning, Visualforce, Apex, Java, AJAX, JavaScript, and other technologies to build customized solutions that support business requirements and drive key business decisions.
• Setting best practices including integration and application development, deployment, testing (unit and systems), and iterative refinement.
• Perform technical analysis, level-of-effort estimation, design, development, implementation of applications with necessary customizations and integration
• Perform Salesforce.com systems configuration, maintenance, environment refresh, data integration duties
• Work alongside other technical teams, including engineers, analysts and cross-functional groups
• Develop end-to-end architecture of small to medium engineering projects with supervision.
• Troubleshoot and respond to errors, bug fixes and issue tickets
• Ensure all programs comply with Amazon InfoSec standards

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
- Experience in agile/scrum or related collaborative workflow
- 3 years work experience as salesforce developer
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or related field and experience
- Experience developing in Salesforce technologies such as Apex, Lightning Design and Visualforce pages
- Experience with CSS, HTML, JavaScript
- Experience with web services (REST & SOAP, JSON & XML, etc.
- Sharp analytical abilities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in building highly scalable applications on AWS
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, negotiate, resolve problems, and develop relationships at all levels of the organization
- Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices across the development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source management, testing, and operations.
- Ability to work independently with limited direction, communicate effectively with team members in other geographic locations
- Ability to take calculated risks and challenge current practices to develop and deliver innovative solutions to meet or exceed the customer expectations
- Advanced Excel skills (Macro, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP)
- Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I & II
- Salesforce Certified Service Cloud Consultant

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $72,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $182,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
