DESCRIPTION

The AWS Strategic Marketing Team is seeking an experienced Product Marketing Manager with a passion for technology to develop top-level messaging and storytelling for AWS. Strategic Marketing is responsible for creating crisp, highly differentiated, and compelling positioning and messaging for AWS and its services. We tell AWS’s most important and interesting stories to educate customers about what is possible when you build on AWS. The Principal Product Marketing Manager will drive our top-level messaging strategy and execution, deliver top notch written material, and lead cross-functional teams to create standard-setting content that will advance the thought leadership position of AWS worldwide.
The ideal candidate has a strong technology background combined with a passion for storytelling and experience in communications or product marketing. We’re looking for an excellent writer and creative thinker who can become fluent in AWS’s communication style, tone, and voice and then influence and maintain organization-wide consistency for written communication and message delivery. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, a collaborative working style, and ability to articulate the most complex technical concepts in terms that make sense to customers, press, and the public. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in the development and delivery of AWS’s most important messages and stories.
This position is in Seattle WA area. Relocation offered from within the US only.
Key job responsibilities
Leading messaging and content strategy from ideation and delivery, to measurement and evaluation
Delivering high-impact messaging, storylines, content and marketing programs for the AWS platform, including executive materials, web copy, press materials, presentations and articles for top-tier media publications
Developing and implementing a cross-functional communications center of excellence to ensure AWS’s executive, public relations, analyst relations, sales, and marketing teams are coordinated in their efforts to communicate AWS’s most important messages
Advising others on their content to improve quality, clarity, and impact
Developing and executing programs to raise the bar on messaging and writing across AWS product marketing, communications, and product management teams

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 9 years of professional non-internship marketing experience
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
- Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
- Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
- Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with creating GTM initiatives at scale
- Experience working cross-functionally across marketing, product management, analytics, UX, and research
- Experience communicating results to senior leadership
- MBA

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $252,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
