DESCRIPTION

The Global Deal Strategy & Programs (GDSP) is responsible for the AWS Private Pricing Program, designed to offer AWS Customers benefits in exchange for commitments. GDSP is made up of Private Pricing Programs & Experiences (3PX) and Strategic Customer Engagements. 3PX is responsible for the design and delivery of the end-to-end Private Pricing experience for Customers, Sellers, and Solution Providers to drive scale and growth. SCE is a specialized global deal team that engages with Customers, and partners with the field on deal strategy, structuring, and negotiations through contractual closure for transformational, strategic, large, complex, and/or highly competitive Customer opportunities.
We are seeking business results-driven Data Science Sr. Product Manager- Tech to lead AI and data science initiatives. As a key member of the GDSP extended leadership team, the Sr. Manager of Advanced Analytics will be responsible for partnering with Private Pricing leadership to unearth game-changing insights using advanced analytics solutions, and leveraging data insights to inform business decisions. The ideal candidate should possess a combination of technical expertise, strategic vision, and business acumen.
The leader will define key Private Pricing business metrics and will be responsible for data driven insights, forward looking indicators, and statistical analysis to grow continuous improvements and to guide strategic recommendations for emerging and disruptive improvement initiatives across global operations, including internal weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews.

Key job responsibilities
Strategy Leadership:
o Develop and execute the data science vision, strategy, and roadmap aligning with the Private Pricing and GDSP objectives
o Collaborate with GDSP and AWS leadership to identify data-driven opportunities and challenges, and provide data insights to guide strategic planning and decision-making
o Champion data-driven initiatives and promote the use of data analytics throughout the organization
o Work cross-functionally with various departments, including engineering, product, marketing, and finance, to identify data needs, define business problems, and provide data-driven solutions
o Communicate complex technical concepts and analytical findings in a clear and understandable manner to stakeholders at all levels
Data Analytics and Modeling:
o Oversee the design, development, and implementation of advanced analytics models and algorithms to extract valuable insights from large and complex datasets
o Lead data exploration, hypothesis testing, and statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and correlations for business optimization
o Collaborate on the design, development, maintenance, and delivery/presentation of forecasting models, metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to drive key business decisions
o Work with the senior leadership, set annual goals, budgets and run the forecasting mechanism
o Find opportunities and launch AI initiatives such as Generative AI, using AWS Services to automate processes and solve unarticulated business problems
o Lead the development and provision of routine and ad-hoc analytic reports to senior management regarding Business Development initiatives, customer segment performance, performance against goals, etc. Ensure reports contribute to business insight and decision-making, and minimize report burden
o Build out robust and scalable reporting mechanisms for global leaders to monitor the business. Lead planning, designing, executing, and implementing reporting solutions, automating mechanisms, and driving business cadences with leadership
o Partner closely with internal data engineering teams to improve data assets, quality, metrics and insights and proactively identify opportunity areas for deep dive investigations and future program development. Analyze and validate data to ensure high data quality and reliable insights
o Collaborate with Business Intelligence Engineers (BIEs) to recognize and help adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
o Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for customers
Team Management:
o Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing data science team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and professional growth
o Provide guidance, feedback, and performance evaluations to team members, driving their development and success
Technology & Tools
o Stay updated with the latest trends, methodologies, and tools in data science and analytics, recommending and implementing technologies that enhance data capabilities and efficiencies
o Explore and learn the latest AWS technologies to provide new capabilities and increase efficiency

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 6 years of team management experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- 8 years of technical product management, program management or engineering experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience delivering consumer software products and services in a high growth environment
- 2 years of end to end product delivery experience
- Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $158,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $307,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
