DESCRIPTION

Amazon Air is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to identify, create, develop and integrate innovative solutions and programs that lead to improvements in our transportation network. This position will lead the development and execution of new worldwide transportation initiatives designed to improve overall efficiency and meet the ever-growing demand for transportation capacity. The successful candidate will have strong data mining and modeling skills and is comfortable facilitating ideas and working from concept through to execution.
Key job responsibilities
- Collect data and perform advanced modeling and statistical analysis
- Model, evaluate and implement opportunities in a complex transportation network
- Map, document and recommend process improvements
- Assist in communications with internal and external customers to understand business requirements
- Support business development and help to create efficient designs and solution processes
- Determine efficient utilization of resources
- Actively engage with internal partners throughout the organization to meet and exceed customer service levels & transport-related KPIs.
- Research and implement cost reduction opportunities.
- Excellent problem-solving, task prioritization, follow-up, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in an ambiguous environment with little guidance or supervision
- Ability to manage through conflict with a positive, flexible and professional attitude
A day in the life
Daily cadence for someone in this role would be developing and managing KPIs, managing data pipelines to ensure accurate reporting, managing rebuttals and data discrepancies, creating visualizations and scorecards for Gateway performance. The goal of this role is to automate reporting, standardize metrics, build internal and external metric decks, and drive performance.
About the team
The Vendor Management team is responsible for managing the contractual relationship with AIR’s 3P Ground Handling vendors at 43 Gateways currently active in the US. This includes, definition of standard work, support for new Gateway launch, Peak/Prime Readiness, Price Analyses, Performance & KPI management, invoicing and payments, as well as negotiation of Master Operating Plans (MOPs) for each Network Execution Plan (NEP).

Bellevue, WA, USA

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5 years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience
- 3 years of business or financial analysis experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Experience with Excel
- Experience with SQL
- Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Masters degree in Logistics or Transportation
- 3 Experience in using scripting languages such as Python and R
- Experience in modeling and analyzing complex logistics networks
- Advanced SQL skills
- Demonstrated evidence of reducing transportation, labor and inventory costs through application of logistics and supply chain optimization methodologies.
- Experience communicating across all levels of management, peers, and clients
- Experience using route and load optimization tools as well as transportation management systems
- Analyst/Project Management experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $143,100/year in our highest geographic market.
